The Hinduja House overlooking the Arabian sea in Mumbai’s Worli
Mumbai is set to emerge as a 32-storey tower from six-floor structure in the
next 3 to 4 years as the Indian translational conglomerate gears up to give a
facelift to its iconic headquarters.
The Hinduja group, which employs over 200,000 people across 11
sectors, transferred its headquarters to this building from Iran in the 1980s.
The property is sprawled over about half-an-acre of prime land
parcel close to the National Sports Complex of India and the Nehru Science
Centre.
London property
On September 12, the group declared it was restoring the ‘Old War
Office’ of Britain’s World War II-era Prime Minister Winston Churchill in
collaboration with Raffles Hotels & Resorts.
The group acquired the property in Whitehall, opposite Downing
Street, over eight years ago, and will have 120 guest rooms and suites, along
with restaurants and spas. It will be opened as a brand-new luxury hotel on
September 26, said the group in a statement.
