China has become the country with the largest number of Alzheimer’s patients in the world. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common type of dementia and mostly affects people in old age. In China, however, the disease is also occurring at an increasingly younger age. According to a report titled “Alzheimer’s Patients Demand Insight Report” released in Beijing at a themed meeting, about 15.07 million people aged 60 and above in China have dementia, of which 9.83 million have Alzheimer’s disease.
