Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) announced that the party has appointed
new chiefs in Nagaland, Meghalaya and Puducherry, informed the party’s national
general secretary Arun Singh.
Benjamin Yepthomi has been appointed as State party president in
Nagaland replacing Temjen Imna Along, who worked in the outgoing position since January 15, 2020.
He is a Member of the Legislative Assembly in the Nagaland
Legislative Assembly from Alongtaki constituency since 2018. He is also the Minister of Higher and Technical Education in the
Fourth Neiphiu Rio ministry since 2018.
Yepthomi was earlier the vice president of Nagaland State BJP and
former State president of BJYM Nagaland for 2 consecutive terms.
On the other hand, Rikman Momin will take charge of the Meghalaya
office as the new State chief.
The outgoing BJP Meghalaya president Ernest Mawrie confirmed the latest
development and stated the central leadership of the party has already informed
him about it.
Notably, S Selvaganabathy has been appointed as president of
Puducherry BJP.
BJP chief JP Nadda has approved their appointments, according to
party notifications.
