Bharat’s Neha Thakur has clinched the silver medal in the Girl’s Dinghy ILCA4 event at the ongoing Asian Games 2023. This is Bharat’s first medal in sailing and 12th overall at the Hangzhou Games. Thakur, who finished third in the girls’ dinghy ILCA4 race nine, improved one spot to reach second after race 10 with an overall timing of 24:48 in the qualifying stage. Cabinet Minister Kiren Rijiju took to social media platform, ‘X’, to congratulate Thakur after winning the silver medial, calling it a good beginning for India’s sailing contingent at the 2023 Asian Games.
