Raja Ram Mohan Roy was born on May 22, 1772, was one of the founders of Brahmo Samaj. He was born in Radhanagar, Hooghly District, Bengal Presidency.He contributed to the welfare of the Bharatiya society until his last breath in 1833. He is well known for his efforts to abolish the practices of sati and child marriage. Raja Ram Mohan Roy is considered to be the “Father of the Bengal Renaissance” by many historians.
