The day marks the birth anniversary of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, known as the ‘Nightingale of Bharat’. Lata Mangeshkar was born on September 28, 1929 and began her career at the age of 13. Mangeshkar sang over 30,000 songs in different languages. Among her popular Hindi songs include Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon, Pyaar Kiya to Darna Kya and Ek Pyaar Ka Nagma Hai, among others. She was honoured with Bharat Ratna (2001), Bharat Vibhushan (1999) and Bharat Bhushan (1969). Notably, PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah paid tribute to Lata Mangeshkar on 94th birth anniversary.
