A few mountain battery trains thrived, keeping the Indian component of the Royal Artillery alive. It was recently revealed that 8 Company Bombay Artillery survived the axing and is now known as 5 (Bombay) Mountain Battery. This day is currently known as the Regiment of Artillery Raising Day.
