With an aim to enhance the medical facilities in the Northeast, Smart
Cities Mission has handed over two 5G-enabled Advanced Life Support (ALS)
Ambulances to Zoram Medical College and Civil Hospital Aizawl.
These ambulances are the first of their kind in Mizoram, and they will
provide advanced medical support to patients in critical condition.
Under the Smart Cities Mission, a total of eight ambulances will be
provided to eight hospitals within Aizawl, including private hospitals.
The goal of this initiative is to ensure that patients in critical
condition get the required treatment on time while being transported to the
hospital in case of emergencies.
Each 5G ALS Ambulance is equipped with a range of advanced medical
equipment, including a defibrillator, cardiac monitor, transport ventilator,
syringe infusion pump, and portable oxygen.
These ambulances include feature like video and audio conference
devices that allow doctors to help paramedics remotely, ensuring the best
medical care possible during transportation.
To further upgrade patient safety, the ambulances are equipped with
spinal boards, scoop stretchers, and other essential equipment needed for efficient
and safe patient transportation.
With these state-of-the-art ambulances, the medical staff can
quickly respond to emergencies and provide immediate medical help to those in
need.
The introduction of 5G technology in these ambulances enables high-speed
and reliable communication, which is important for real-time monitoring and
consultation between paramedics and doctors.
This technology will help improve the efficiency and effectiveness
of emergency medical services, ultimately saving more lives.
