In the 50 years of history, actor Kangana Ranaut will be
the first woman to burn the Ravan effigy at the famous Lav Kush Ramlila located
at Delhi’s Red Fort ground on October 24.
The decision was taken by the committee in support of
the Women’s Reservation Bill which was passed by the Parliament in September.
Announcing about it on her official Instagram handle,
the Indian cinema actor shared, “In the 50 years of history of the event, held
annually at the Red Fort, this will be the first time a woman will set the
effigy of Ravana on fire. Jai Shri Ram.”
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Lieutenant
Governor VK Saxena will be present on the occasion.
Lav Kush Ramleela Committee President Arjun Kumar
said, “This year, along with the effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakarna, and Meghnath,
effigies of anti-Sanatan forces will also be burned in Delhi.”
Usually, the Premiere of the nation does the Ravan
Dahan but since this year PM Narendra Modi is busy with elections, the Lav Kush
Ramlila committee has decided to invite them.
Delhi is holding three grand Ramlilas organized by the
Luv Kush Ram Leela Committee, Dharmik Ram Leela Committee, and Nav Dharmik Ram
Leela Committee.
These festivities have been taking place at Madhav Das
Park and 15th August Park in front of the Red Fort since October 15 and will
continue till October 25, commencing at 6:00 pm daily.
Meanwhile, Kangana is presently busy promoting her
upcoming action movie Tejas, which revolves around the extraordinary journey of
Tejas Gill, an Air Force pilot, and aims to inspire and instil a deep sense of
pride in every Indian, showing how Indian Air Force pilots work tirelessly to
defend our nation, confronting numerous challenges along the way.
Written and directed by Sarvesh Mewara and produced by
Ronnie Screwvala, the film is scheduled to release in theatres on October 27. Besides,
Kangana has Emergency in her kitty.
