Lebanon’s Hezbollah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah met
with top leaders of the Palestinian militant factions Hamas and Islamic Jihad
in Beirut.
The meeting event was reported by Hezbollah’s al-Manar
TV, saying they had assessed what their alliance must do to “achieve a real
victory for the resistance” in Gaza as the Israel-Palestine war reached day 19.
Nasrallah took part in the meeting with Hamas deputy
chief Saleh al-Arouri, and Islamic Jihad chief Ziad al-Nakhala, al-Manar
reported.
“The meeting … assessed the positions taken
internationally and what the Axis of Resistance must do”, a headline on
al-Manar said, referring to an alliance of Iran, Palestinian militant groups,
Syria, Lebanon’s Hezbollah and other factions.
Both Hezbollah and Hamas are a part of the so-called ‘axis
of resistance’ along with other Lebanese, Palestinian, Syrian and Iran-backed
armed forces in opposition to Israel.
“Among other topics, discussions regarding the
appropriate measures that Resistance Axis members must take to reach a definite
victory in Gaza and Palestine took place,” reports Times of Israel.
The ‘Axis of Resistance’, according to the New York
Times report is term used for a regional network of militias in the alliance of
Iran, Palestinian militant groups, Syria, Lebanon’s Hezbollah and other
factions.
