The Israel Defence Forces (IDF), during its airstrike,
had eliminated three senior Hamas operatives directly involved in the attack of
October 7.
The leaders of the terrorist organization were killed
in an airstrike conducted by the Air Force. The IDF reported that these
operatives belonged to the Daraj Tuffah Battalion, which is considered the most
crucial unit within Hamas.
The official Israel Defence Forces statement on read, “Based
on precise IDF and ISA intelligence, the IDF fighter jets targeted three senior
Hamas operatives within the Daraj Tuffah Battalion.
These operatives played a significant role in the
invasion and deadly attack against Israel on October 7, and the battalion is
considered the most important brigade within the Hamas terrorist organization.”
The eliminated Hamas operatives were Daraj Tuffah
Battalion Commander Rifaat Abbas, Deputy Commander Ibrahim Jadba, and Combat
Support Commander Tarek Maarouf.
Meanwhile, as part of the ground offensive, Israeli
tanks entered northern Gaza and destroyed Hamas bunkers and rocket launching
posts. The IDF shared footage of the operation and reported that they
subsequently returned to the Israeli border.
