Prime Minister
Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Bharat Rashtra Samithi in
poll-bound Telangana and the Congress in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
As the Prime
Minister hit out at Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao-led Bharat Rashtra
Samithi Government in Telangana over alleged nepotism, corruption and
appeasement politics, he cornered the Congress for the rise in Naxalism in
Chhattisgarh, where in the first phase polling was held for 20 seats out of 90
in total on Tuesday.
In his address in
Chhattisgarh’s Surajpur, PM Modi said whenever Congress comes to power, the
courage of terrorists and Naxalites increases in the country.
He added under the
Congress rule, human trafficking and drug business are on the rise in the
Surguja division of Chhattisgarh.
“Our sisters and
daughters are being targeted by criminals. Many girls from tribal families have
gone missing. Congress leaders have no answer to this. Due to Congress’ policy
of appeasement, it has become tough to celebrate festivals in the Surguja
region of Chhattisgarh,” he said.
Later, addressing
a rally in Sidhi in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh, the PM alleged that Congress has
always lied to the poor, women and youth. He accused the Congress of making
false promise of waiving off loans to farmers.
“They think that
people are ignorant like before. Now the youth have woken up and have access to
every information on their phones,” he said.
PM Modi reminded
the Congress of its promises made in 2018 about waiving off loans in 10 days “but
they did not fulfil it in 15 months of their rule”.
He continued that
BJP is committed to fulfil the promises it made. The Centre under PM Kisan
Samman Nidhi Yojana, deposited money in the accounts of farmers.
“Under this
scheme, till now Rs 2.6 lakh crore has been deposited directly into the
accounts of farmers. Rs 20,000 crores of this scheme has been deposited into
the accounts of farmers of MP,” added the PM.
PM Modi said free
ration scheme for the poor has been extended for five more years.
“Your sevak, Modi
has worked with full dedication in the government that we have run for almost
10 years. In these 10 years, scams have stopped, the poor and middle class have
saved money, and they have got more facilities. Under the BJP Government,
corruption worth lakhs of crores has stopped,” he said.
“Although the
scheme of providing free ration to the poor will end in December, I have taken
this decision that the BJP-led Government will extend the scheme of providing
free ration to the poor people of the country for the next five years. The
government has spent Rs 4 lakh crore on the PM Awas Yojana. For the Ujjwala
beneficiaries, we have given additional subsidy,” he added.
Accusing Congress of
abusing him, PM Modi remarked, “Congress promoted only those who attended the
Delhi Darbar. Congress never allowed the talented leadership of SC, ST and OBC
communities to emerge. It is their mentality, because of which, they keep
abusing Modi day and night. While abusing Modi, they have started abusing the
entire OBC community.”
“Under the
Ayushman Bharat Yojana, we have provided guarantee cards to the poor to avail
treatment upto Rs 5 lakhs. If there was no Ayushman card, more than Rs 1 lakh
crore would have been spent by the poor and middle class for healthcare
services. We have opened over 10,000 Jan Aushadhi Kendra to provide medicines
at 80 per cent discount,” he added.
“There are some
factors common between the Congress and the BRS, which are nepotism,
corruption, and appeasement politics. They lie in the DNA of both Congress and
the BRS. Corruption blooms under their protection. The Congress and the BRS
will never let a Backward Class person become the Chief Minister,” PM Modi said
at a poll campaign in Telangana’s Hyderabad.
Lauding the
BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre, the PM said, “It is the NDA that caters
to the rights of the Backward Class people. It is the NDA that provides fair
representation to them. We made APJ Abdul Kalam President of the country. In
1996, when a tribal leader, PS Sangamaji was selected for the post of the Lok
Sabha speaker, Atalji gave full support”.
“It is the NDA
that gave the country its first tribal Lok Sabha speaker, Bal Yogiji. We made
Droupadi Murmu, who is a tribal woman, President of the country. We selected
Ram Nath Kovind, who is a BC leader, for the post of president. The NDA chose
me, the country’s first OBC Prime Minister, with the blessings of the
countrymen. There are 27 OBC cabinet ministers, which is a record in itself,”
he added.
Speaking on the
Telangana Assembly polls, PM Modi said, “There is a storm for a change in
Telangana. The State has faith in the BJP. Everyone is in the mood for a change
in Telangana. For the last nine years, there has been an ‘anti-development’
government. Now, it is the time to throw it out. You have to ensure that the ‘lotus’
blooms here in the State”
He said further, “OBC,
SC, ST, and poor class people are now standing with the BJP. For these people,
the BJP has brought PM-Vishwakarma scheme so that they can live their lives
with respect.”
“An arrogance can
be seen within the BRS leaders. In the 2019 general assembly polls, the
Telangana people gave a befitting reply to the ‘arrogant CM’ with the power of
votes. So, the BRS leaders keep abusing me. BRS’s corruption is linked to the
Delhi liquor scam case. When the probe agencies started investigating the
matter, the leaders started abusing it, too. But I want to tell everyone that
there will be a legal action in all the corruption cases,” continued PM Modi
further.
“During the
daunting period of Covid, Modi, who understands poverty, decided not to let the
poor children stay hungry. He decided not to let the poor people suffer due to
hunger. Therefore, we started free ration for the poor. I have pledged to
increase the amount of ration being provided to the poor. Yeh Modi ki guarantee
hai,” he added.
While the polling
for the 40-member Mizoram Assembly and the first phase of polling for the
Chhattisgarh Assembly concluded on Tuesday, the elections will be held in
Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh (second phase) on November 17, Rajasthan on
November 25 and Telangana on November 30. The counting of votes will take place
on December 3 in all the States.
