Taking action against illegal migrants, seven Bangladesh nationals were
repatriated to their native country via the India-Bangladesh international
border in Karimganj district’s Sutarkandi on Monday.
They were arrested by the RPF and BSF in the past for entering India
illegally.
Among the seven persons, two are men, two women and three children. They
have been identified as Bablu Sardar, Abdul Odud Mondal, Sahida Begum, Sharmin
Begum and Sharmin’s three children – Ismail Sheikh, Shakib Sheikh and Shakil
Sheikh.
Bablu belongs to Khulna-district of Bangladesh, Abdul is from Bogura
district, Sahida hails from Gopalganj district and Sharma is from Narail
district.
The seven people were found in Assam and Tripura without any legal documents
and were arrested, said sources.
Six of them were caught in Karimganj district and one in Sivasagar
district. The males were sent to Silchar central jail while the women were sent
to the Matia transit camp in Goalpara district, they added.
A source in BSF said the seven persons were taken to Sutarkandi, about 12
km from Karimganj town, and handed over to Border Guards Bangladesh on Monday.
