Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his
landmark visit to Dubai for the United Nations’ Conference of Parties-28 or
CoP28 climate summit, met King Charles III on Friday. The Indian Premiere reiterated
his willingness to work together for a better planet.
PM Modi met many other world leaders
during his one-day visit to the conference including Italian PM Giorgia Meloni
and Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
In a social media post, PM Modi wrote
about his conversation with King Charles III on the sidelines of the summit.
The PM mentioned the British monarch’s
passion towards environmental conservation and called him an “important voice
in the fight against climate change”.
“Earlier today in Dubai, I had the
opportunity to interact with King Charles, who has always been passionate
towards environmental conservation and sustainable development. He is an
important voice in the fight against climate change,” PM Modi wrote on X.
Besides, PM Modi met with Vietnam
Counterpart Pham Minh Chinh, and both leaders exchanged views on a number of
topics.
“Met Prime Minister of Vietnam, Pham
Minh Chinh and had a great conversation on various issues,” PM Modi posted on
X.
This was PM Modi’s third appearance at
the World Climate Action Summit after his tours to Paris in 2015 and Glasgow in
2021.
PM Modi was welcomed by UAE Deputy Prime
Minister Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on his arrival at Dubai airport on the night
of Thursday.
In the late hours of Friday night, the Indian
Premiere landed in Delhi from the trip to Dubai. On Friday evening, after
participating in the World Climate Action Summit of COP28, he completed his
day-long visit to UAE.
“Thank you, Dubai! It’s been a
productive COP28 Summit. Let’s all keep working together for a better planet,” he
wrote on X.
