All the members of BLACKPINK have officially extended their contracts with YG Entertainment, as confirmed by the agency on December 6 KST. This comes after much anticipation from fans worldwide, especially since the group’s initial seven-year contract expired in August 2023. The successful agreement on exclusive group contracts for all four members was announced following discussions within the YG Entertainment board of directors.
The news of BLACKPINK’s contract renewal had an immediate positive impact on YG Entertainment’s stock price, leading to a surge of 58,000 won per share. This followed a period of uncertainty during the contract renewal negotiations, where the label’s stock price had experienced a dip.
Despite the absence of individual exclusive contracts, both BLACKPINK and YG Entertainment are expected to continue reaping substantial profits from the group’s collective activities. BLACKPINK recently concluded their highly successful “Born Pink” world tour, attracting 1.8 million attendees and generating estimated cumulative sales of 350 billion won across 22 countries.
While the decision to continue group activities has been made, individual contracts for each member are still in the process of finalization. It is noteworthy that two members, including Lisa, have opted to part ways with YG Entertainment while discussions with the remaining two members are ongoin
