Many eminent Bharatiya Janata Party leaders paid floral tributes to former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee including Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, Assam counterpart Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, on the occasion of his 99th birth anniversary. Vajpayee was born on December 25, 1924, in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, and was elected three times as the nation’s prime minister.
“Tribute was paid to former Prime Minister, ‘Bharat Ratna’ holder Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji by paying floral tributes at his statue on the occasion of ‘Good Governance Day’, the carrier of excellent democratic values in Bharatiya politics. The sacred memories of respected Atal ji remain alive in the hearts of all of us.” CM Yogi Adityanath posted on X.
CM Adityanath remarked that Atal ji’s thoughts are the basis of good governance.
“Humble tribute to the public leader who stirred the soul of Bharat, the pinnacle of Bharatiya politics, on his birth anniversary! Atal ji’s thoughts are the foundation of good governance that always inspire us. Happy ‘Good Governance Day’ to all!” CM Yogi further posted on X.
Taking to X, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, further extended his wishes on this occasion. He said, “”Heartfelt tribute to the guiding light of crores of BJP workers, the pinnacle of Bharatiya politics, the blessed son of Mother Saraswati, former Prime Minister ‘Bharat Ratna’ Most Revered Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji on his birth anniversary.”
Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a visit to the ‘Sadaiv Atal’ memorial in New Delhi on December 25 to offer floral tributes on the 99th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Another notable presence included President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar at the memorial. Leaders like Former President Ram Nath Kovind, BJP National President JP Nadda, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh among others were also seen paying their respects by offering floral tributes on the occasion.
The Bharatiya Janata Party is organising a number of events across the country to mark the 99th birth anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee on December 25 which is also celebrated as Good Governance Day. Previously, the BJP National President JP Nadda has asked the party officials and state presidents pan Bharat to pay floral tributes to Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s portrait at all booths and hold discussions regarding the vibrant personality and work of the former Prime Minister.

The purpose of Good Governance Day is to facilitate public access to various government programs and services via good governance.
