In the wake of the rising threats of global warming and climate change, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions to implement the Green Hydrogen Policy to both promote and enhance the clean and green energy production sources in the state. The aforementioned information was made via a press release issued by the Chief Minister’s office.
While reviewing the draft policy at a meeting, Adityanath said that before finalising the policy, it is necessary to consult the stakeholders working in this sector so that investors and users can get maximum benefits from it. The Chief Minister said that green hydrogen, which is a clean energy source, is a stepping stone to achieve the target of net zero and must be encouraged.
Instructions were also laid out to encourage the firms working in the green hydrogen sector by providing them maximum incentives. Companies that are setting up units should be provided with benefits like availability of land, exemption from stamp duty and electricity duty, capital and interest subsidy, lucrative incentives, etc.
The Chief Minister additionally directed the officials to study the related policies of various states before finalising the policy.
