Right before the inauguration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, the city’s Ayodhya Junction railway station was renamed as Ayodhya Dham Junction and the announcement of the same was made public by Ayodhya’s Member of Parliament Lallu Singh on social media on December 27.
“’Ayodhya Junction’ became ‘Ayodhya Dham’ Junction under the guidance of the Honourable Prime Minister of Bharat Shri @narendramodi ji, the name of Ayodhya Junction of the newly constructed grand Ayodhya Railway Station has been changed to #अयोध्या_धाम_जंक्शन as per the expectation of public sentiments,” he wrote on X.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be inaugurating the grand railway station and airport on December 30 which is currently under construction in Ayodhya. The grand railway station is equipped with lifts, a tourist information centre and medical facilities. Extensive preparations are underway to achieve completion.
“The airport and the railway station prepared in the first phase are set to be inaugurated on December 30. As per the estimates, after January 22, close to 50,000-55,000 people will come to Ayodhya daily and the administration is busy in preparing for the same,” said Gaurav Dayal, Commissioner of Ayodhya.
“The building’s frontage is of a colonnade having a concrete core along a cladding of sandstone. The side ends are tall round pillars with a cladding of sandstone to give a traditional look,” a senior official of RITES told PTI.
Refurbished platforms, fresh signboards, escalators and murals of Lord Ram are painted on the walls. These are some among the other features of the Ayodhya railway station after the ongoing revamp.
This railway station is said to hold as much mythological importance as it is modern. It is constructed like a grand temple from the outside and is equipped with equally modern facilities from the inside.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is also incharge of reviewing the preparations being done for the inaugural ceremony of the Ayodhya Ram temple.
