An FIR has been registered against unknown persons at the Tughlaq Road police station by the Delhi Police against the backdrop of the bomb explosion that took place near the Israel Embassy on December 26. Meanwhile, a sealed report of the blast will be handed over to the Delhi Police, as informed by the top officials of the NSG bomb squad team.
According to Delhi police, the component is currently under investigation and therefore, the forensic reports are still awaited. The samples sent to the forensics include leaves and soil from the spot procured by the National Security Group (NSG) and Delhi Police on December 27.
The Delhi police launched a search operation in the whole area where people who just passed the spot before the incident were interrogated. Beyond this, all the taxi and auto drivers who had passed Prithvi Raj Road and Abdul Kalam Road were also interrogated thoroughly.
On December 26, Delhi Police received a phone call informing of a ‘blast’ heard near the Israeli Embassy in the Chanakyapuri diplomatic enclave but officials said that nothing as such was found at the spot of the incident.
The deployment of the paramilitary forces outside the Israeli Embassy in Delhi took place two days after the police received a call about a ‘blast’ being heard near the area. The sound of the blast was first heard by the security official standing near the Israel embassy that gave the information to the FSL team.
Delhi Special Cell, Dog Squad and NIA officials then carried out a thorough investigation outside the Israel Embassy. The Delhi police have zeroed in on two ‘suspects’ upon the examination of the CCTV footage of the area. Officials are yet to confirm the duo’s involvement in the same.
