To improve the living condition of poor
people, the Tripura Government led by CM Dr Manik Saha has decided to add 29,410
more people under its social pension scheme from January 2024.
Currently, 3,80,668 people are availing
the facility of pension of Rs 2,000 under 34 the Centrally and State Government
sponsored schemes.
As 29,410 poor people will get Rs 2,000
per month each, Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy claimed
that Tripura is leading among Northeastern States in terms of the number of
people receiving the social pensions.
The Central Government distributes social
pensions to about 1,51,348 people under three schemes, while the Tripura Government
provides pensions to 2,29,320 people under 30 schemes.
BJP State spokesperson Nabendu
Bhattacharjee expressed gratitude to the State Government for the inclusion of additional
persons in the Mukhyamantri pension scheme.
