Goldy Brar, Canada-based gangster, has been designated the status of a ‘terrorist’ under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). Brar had claimed responsibility for the audacious murder of Sidhu Moosewala, Bharatiya rap star and Congress politician.
In June, Interpol issued red-corner notices against Goldy Brar upon a request sent by the Punjab Police to the Interpol through the CBI. Red Corner Notice or RN is a notice that alerts the police forces across the globe about the fugitives that are wanted internationally.
Satinderjit Singh aka Goldy Brar, went to Canada in 2017 on a student visa. And from Canada, he has been running his criminal activities that includes murders and extortion. He also happens to be a close associate of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
In an official notification released by the Centre marked Satwinder Singh alias Goldy Brar, the son of Shamsher Singh and Preetpal Kaur born on 11.04.1994, who presently resides in Canada’s Brampton, holds association with the pro-Khalistan terrorist group Babbar Khalsa. It further stated that Brar had a backing by a cross-border agency and was involved in multiple killings. Further, he “professes radical ideology such as making threatening calls to pro-nationalist leaders while demanding ransom and posting the claims of killings on different social media platforms.”
The Centre further laid claims on Goldy Brar being involved in the smuggling of high-grade arms, ammunition and explosive materials via drones from across the border and supplying them for his violent activities. Claims regarding Brar have also been conspiring to disrupt the peace, communal harmony and law and order of Punjab through his engagement in “nefarious designs including sabotage, raising of terror modules, carrying out targeted killings and other anti-national activities.”

Last year, the Centre had asked Interpol to issue a red-corner notice.
“The Central Government is of a believe that Satwinder Singh @ Satinderjit Singh @ Goldy Brar is involved in terrorism and the said Satwinder Singh @ Satinderjit Singh @ Goldy Brar is to be added as a terrorist in the Fourth Schedule to the said Act,” it said.
As per the 1,850-page chargesheet filed in the Moose Wala murder case, Brar was considered to be the mastermind behind the killing.
Brar, via a social media post, revealed that he got the singer killed to avenge the murder of student leader Vicky Middukhera.
