In matter of pride, Ram Devotees among divyangs or specially-abled persons from Assam have dispatched a truck full of 7,000 pieces of bamboo to be utilised in the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
The divyangs are members of the All Assam Divyanga Versatile Association of the State’s Kamrup district and locals of the Lampi area from the disputed zone of the Assam-Meghalaya border.
Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council member Arjun Chetry said, “We have collected the bamboo pieces from the Lampi area… and the bamboo-loaded container truck will travel 1,250 km to reach Ayodhya. It is a matter of pride for us.”
The bamboo will be used for erecting barricades and camps in Ayodhya where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the temple on January 22.
The divyangs in the hilly terrain of Lampi face hardship owing to poor economic condition and irrespective of that they have donated the bamboos, which are popular in Assam for its strength and durability.
Surely, these Ram Devotees will script history with their kind act and association with this much-awaited event.
