A criminal case against Mihir Diwakar and Soumya Vishwash of Aarka Sports and Management Limited has been filed by the cricketing legend Mahendra Singh Dhoni in a Ranchi court. Diwakar and MSD allegedly entered into an agreement in 2017 to establish a global cricket academy. However, Diwakar’s failure to adhere to the stipulated conditions outlined in the agreement meant that Aarka Sports was obligated to pay a franchise fee and share profits as per the agreement’s terms. These, however, were not honoured.
Despite numerous tries, the terms and conditions listed in the agreement were disregarded. Consequently, this pushed MSD to revoke the authority letter granted to Aarka Sports on August 15th, 2021. Further, he sent several legal notices, but to no avail.
Dayanand Singh, who represents MS Dhoni through Vidhi Associates, has asserted that they were deceived and cheated by Aarka Sports, amounting to a loss exceeding Rs 15 crore.
Dhoni’s friend Simant Lohani aka Chittu, has also filed a complaint, alleging that he was subjected to threats and abuse by Mihir Diwakar once they took legal action against Aarka Sports.
MS Dhoni recently got back home after spending his New Year in Dubai. Dhoni welcomed the New Year with his family and friends. India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant also accompanied Dhoni during the trip. Rishabh Pant joined MS Dhoni post reaching Dubai for IPL 2024 mini-auction, which was held in the UAE on December 19 for the first time.
MS Dhoni and Rishabh Pant are expected to make their return to competitive action during IPL 2024, which is expected to be the farewell season for MSD in the cash-rich league. MS Dhoni, at the age of 41, overcame a wobbly knee to lead Chennai Super Kings to their fifth title in 2023.
MS Dhoni went through a challenging phase as he underwent knee surgery in June 2023 which was successfully performed at Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai. His recovery was a keenly followed topic and the cricket star had spent a lot of time in Ranchi before he was seen in the public eye. He is trying out vintage cars and interacting with fans.
Chennai Super Kings CEO, Kasi Viswanathan, provided a reassuring update on Dhoni’s health, confirming that his recovery was headed in a positive direction. Dhoni expressed optimism about his rehabilitation while he was going through the rehab phase. He further mentioned that there were no issues with his day-to-day routine.
