Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu has
appreciated the Manik Saha Government for working on all-round development of
the Northeastern State where a new AIIMS or All India Institute of Medical
Science will be set up.
To expedite the construction work of
AIIMS, the Tripura Government has urged the Centre to ascertain the suitability
of the proposed land covering 20 acres, apprised Governor Nallu during the Winter
Session’s first day.
Works Appreciated by Governor
- Tripura has two medical colleges and a
dental college operating in Agartala. - Dhalai district hospital will get additional
college with 100 MBBS seats under the Centrally-sponsored scheme. - Tripura is on way to become a multi
modal hub for transport and logistics, transnational trade and communication. The
Transport department and Central ministries are working towards it jointly. - Centrally-funded school of logistics,
communication and waterways in Tripura has already taken up multiple tasks. - A unity mall at Hapania with ample space
for commercial purposes will come up soon. It will facilitate display and sale
of traditional handicrafts, handloom products, and textiles from other Indian States
under one roof. - Aiming for commercial marketing of
horticulture products, a centre of excellence for citrus worth Rs 9.18 crore will
be set up at Gumati district’s Taidu under the Indo-Israel Agri-Work plan.
