Ahead of the consecration ceremony at
the Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22, a spectacular ‘Raam Naam Maha Yagya’
is set to take place from January 14 to 25. Organized by Atmanand Das
Mahatyagi, also known as ‘Nepali Baba,’ the event will feature the
establishment of 1008 shivalingas, symbolizing a divine offering.
A vast tent city spanning 100 acres has
been erected on the Saryu River ghats, situated 2 km away from the Ram temple,
creating a spiritual haven for devotees. The first phase of the temple’s
construction is nearing completion, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled
to participate in the consecration ceremony.
The Maha Yagya will witness the
participation of 21,000 seers from Nepal, emphasizing the unity of spiritual
traditions. Accommodations for 50,000 devotees daily have been arranged, with a
daily feast serving around 1 lakh devotees. After the yagya, the 1008
shivlingas will be ceremoniously immersed in the Saryu River.
Commencing with the hosts’ head shaving
on January 14, the yagya will intensify from January 17 to 25. The ritualistic
havan will involve the chanting of 24,000 verses from the Ramayana, creating an
immersive and spiritually enriching atmosphere.
Nepali Baba, expressing his roots in
Ayodhya, highlighted the significance of the Maha Yagya. The event will feature
the anointment of 1008 Shivlings with panchamrit daily, and 1,100 couples will
perform havan with the recital of Ram Mantras in 100 ponds constructed at the
Yagyashala.
Stones from the Narmada River in Madhya
Pradesh have been brought for the carving of the Shivlings, contributing to the
sacred preparations ahead of the monumental consecration ceremony.
