In a momentous announcement, Prime
Minister Narendra Modi declared his commitment to undergo an 11-day anushthan
(special rituals) preceding the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony at Ayodhya’s Ram
temple scheduled for January 22.
In a heartfelt video message shared on
the social platform X, the Prime Minister expressed his gratitude for the
privilege to witness the auspicious occasion. He stated, “For Ram Lalla’s ‘pran
pratishtha’ in Ayodhya only 11 days are left. I am fortunate to be part of this
sacred event and represent the people of India. To honour this divine calling,
I am commencing an 11-day special ritual today and seek blessings from all of
you.”
PM Modi continued, “I find it difficult
to articulate my emotions at this juncture. This initiative is a deeply
personal endeavor on my part.”
Significance of PM Modi’s 11-day
Anushthan
Hindu shastras outline specific rules
for the ‘pran pratishtha’ ritual, emphasizing a meticulous and detailed
process. Despite his demanding schedule and responsibilities, PM Modi has
chosen to adhere rigorously to these rituals, embarking on an 11-day anushthan.
Hindu scriptures prescribe specific
fasting instructions leading up to the consecration ceremony. The PM’s daily
routine includes rituals like Brahma Muhurat Jagran, prayers, and a simple
diet.
PM Modi is set to preside over the
consecration ceremony of the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya. Preparations for the
event are in their final stages, with invitations extended to several VVIP
guests from Bharat and abroad.
The Vedic rituals are scheduled to
commence on January 16, a week before the main ceremony. The main ‘Pran
Pratishtha’ ceremony will be conducted by Lakshmi Kant Dixit, a priest from
Varanasi.
As part of the festivities, a 1008 Hundi
Mahayagya will be organized, catering to thousands of devotees. Numerous tent
cities are being erected in Ayodhya to accommodate the expected influx of devotees,
with arrangements being made for 10,000-15,000 people, according to the Sri Ram
Janambhoomi Trust.
Local authorities are gearing up for the
anticipated surge in visitors, implementing enhanced security measures and
logistical arrangements to ensure a smooth and spiritually enriching experience
for all attendees.
