President Droupadi Murmu had to skip the
golden jubilee celebrations of Karbi Youth Festival in Assam’s Karbi Anglong
district due to adverse weather conditions, confirmed Chief Minister
Himanta Biswa Sarma and expressed regret over the matter.
Notably, the President encountered
delays in Meghalaya capital Shillong, where her helicopter was grounded for
over four hours due to adverse weather conditions. She was on her three-day
visit to the Northeastern States.
Despite the unexpected turn of events,
President Murmu sent a video message, which will be shared with the attendees
at the Karbi Youth Festival, allowing her to convey her regard.
