All Central government offices will only be functional for half the day on January 22, owing to the Ram Temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya, informed the Minister of State Jitendra Singh on January 18.
The offices will remain closed till 2.30pm on account of the ceremony, according to the notice issued by the Ministry of Personnel Public Grievances and Pensions.
A source revealed that the decision has been taken keeping in mind the overwhelming sentiments and demands of employees to participate in the celebrations.
“In response to the overwhelming sentiments and demands of employees to participate in the celebrations associated with the ‘Pran pratishtha’ of Ram Lalla at Ayodhya Ram Mandir on 22nd January, the Centre has decided upon half a day closing of Central Government establishments in the country,” the source said.
