The idol of Ram Lalla was placed inside the temple’s ‘Garbha Griha’ on January 18. Earlier, a symbolic ‘Parisar Pravesh’ (entry into the complex) of a replica of the main idol occurred on January 17, in the company of Vedic chants.
A part of the intricate rituals preceding the consecration ceremony was ‘Kalash Pujan’ which took place on January 17. A unique worship ceremony occurred in the sanctum-sanctorum, and on January 18, the idol was carefully moved inside using a crane, as the jubilant chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ resonated.
The meticulous seven-day rituals are crucial for the consecration ceremony which will continue until January 21. On the day of the ‘Pran Pratishtha’, starting at 12:20 p.m. on January 22, a minimal set of essential rituals will be carried out, overseen by 121 ‘acharyas’ appointed to carry out the sacred proceedings. The ceremony is expected to be wrapped up by 1pm.
The first floor of the construction is designated as Ram Darbar while the second floor is intended for various rituals and ceremonies.
