Pakistani cricketer announced his second marriage to Pakistan actor Sana Javed via their social media accounts where Malik and Sana had posted pictures to confirm the news.
Previously, the former Pakistan captain was married to Sania Mirza and the couple together have a five-year-old son Izaan.
A few days prior, Sania Mirza made public a cryptic quote on her Instagram stories, saying “Divorce is hard.”
“Marriage is hard. Divorce is hard. Choose your hard. Obesity is hard. Being fit is hard. Choose your hard. Being in debt is hard. Being financially disciplined is hard. Choose your hard. Communication is hard and so is non-communication. Choose your hard. Life is not meant to be easy and it will always be hard. However, we can always choose our hard. Pick wisely,” read the quote Sania posted on her Instagram story.
Sania and Malik, married in 2010, used to live in the UAE.
Previously, Sana Javed was married to singer Umar Jaswal. The duo, married in 2020, separated in November last year.
Mirza, one of Bharat’s greatest tennis players ever, announced her retirement last year. She has a glittering career that spanned 20 years, where she has 43 WTA doubles titles and one singles trophy, Sania was seen as a trailblazer for women in sport. Recently, there was an addition of another chapter to that book where she donned the hat of mentor to the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise in the Women’s Premier League.
The 37-year-old started her professional career in 2003. She has six Grand Slam titles to her credit, such as three women’s doubles with Swiss legend Martina Hingis. Further, her victories include two of her three mixed doubles titles with compatriot Mahesh Bhupathi and rounded off her trophy cabinet with a US Open title with Bruno Soares.
On the other hand, Malik still plays T20 cricket around the globe and has not retired from the game’s shortest format.
