Country music legend and actress Dolly Parton has recently announced the coming of new music on her 78th birthday. Parton took to Instagram and revealed that she’s marking her special day in style with some new music.
Captioning her post, she wrote, “Surprise! Stream ‘Rockstar Deluxe’ wherever you get your music from.”
“Hello fans and friends, as it is my birthday, I’m going to give you a present!” the beginning of her message read in an image she posted.
Continuing, Parton wrote, “I’m releasing four songs for my birthday that have never been released, to go with the Rockstar album, along with a few others that you may have heard before that were not on the album. I hope that you enjoy them, and have a happy birthday for me! LOL.”
Concluding the message with a sweet note for her fans, she wrote, “Thank you all for everything, Dolly.”
The fresh deluxe version of her rock-inspired album Rockstar features the unique additional tracks, following the album’s initial release in November of last year.
Parton has confirmed the release date in May 2023 and revealed that the 30-song album comes with a lineup of 20 legendary covers and nine originals.
“I’m super excited to finally present my first Rock and Roll album, Rockstar! I am extremely honoured and privileged to have got the opportunity to work with some of the greatest iconic singers and musicians of all time and to be able to sing all the iconic songs throughout the album was a joy beyond measure,” she said in a press release at the time.
“I really hope that everybody enjoys the album as much as I have enjoyed putting it together!” she added.
