In a spectacular display of devotion, a
Guinness World Record was established as 33,258 earthen lamps, or ‘diyas,’ were
lit to form the words “Siyavar Ramchandra ki Jai” in Maharashtra’s Chandrapur.
The awe-inspiring event took place at
the Chanda Club ground on Saturday.
State Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar graced
the occasion with his presence and the Guinness World Records officials Milind
Werlekar and Prasad Kulkarni presented the official certification for the remarkable
feat to Mungantiwar on the morning of Sunday.
Organized by Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee
Sarvajanik Vachanalay, the event drew the participation of several thousand
people who gathered to witness the breathtaking sight.
The illuminated diyas created a visually
striking and spiritually significant manifestation of support and reverence for
the forthcoming consecration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
