In a joyous celebration following the ‘Pran
Pratishtha’ ceremony of Shri Ram Lalla in Ayodhya, the revered Kamakhya Temple
and Basistha Temple in Guwahati were adorned with the warm glow of one lakh
earthen lamps during the ‘deepotsav’ festivity.
Devotees gathered at the Kamakhya Temple
on Nilachal Hills dedicated to Maa Kamakhya since the early morning hours. The
temple, centering around Kulachara Tantra Marga, is renowned for the Ambubachi
Mela, an annual festival celebrating the menstruation of the goddess.
Similarly, the Basistha Temple, located
in the south-east corner of Guwahati, witnessed the illumination of one lakh
diyas. The temple, situated in the historic Basistha Ashram dating back to the
Vedic age, was founded by the great saint Basistha (Vasishtha) according to
legend.
Meanwhile, Ayodhya was aglow with ‘Ram
Jyotis,’ creating a mesmerizing atmosphere symbolizing the divine presence of
Lord Ram. The ‘Pran Pratishtha’ concluded earlier in the day, marked by Prime
Minister Narendra Modi’s participation, echoing with jubilant chants of ‘Jai
Shree Ram.’
The grand diya lighting event at the
famous Saryu Ghat in Ayodhya witnessed widespread participation across the
country. PM Modi had earlier urged people to light diyas at home to commemorate
the historic ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of the lord. The tradition harks back
to the belief that upon Lord Ram’s return with Sita and Lakshman, the people of
Ayodhya lit diyas to welcome them.
The Ram Temple, adorned with colourful
lights, drew crowds eager to catch a glimpse of ‘Ram Lalla.’ The temple was opened
to the public today and the celebrations are resonating across the nation,
captivating attention from around the world.
