On the occasion of National Girl Child
Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed admiration for the resilience and
achievements of girls, highlighting his government’s commitment to creating an
environment where they can learn, flourish, and succeed.
The Prime Minister conveyed these thoughts
in on X, emphasizing the importance of raising awareness about the rights of
girls, as well as promoting their education and health.
In his statement, PM Modi stated, “On
National Girl Child Day, we salute the indomitable spirit and accomplishments
of the Girl Child. We also recognize the rich potential of every girl child in
all sectors.”
He went on to describe them as changemakers,
who contribute to the betterment of the nation and society. Additionally, he
acknowledged the ongoing efforts of his government over the past decade to
establish a nation where every girl child is afforded the opportunity to learn,
grow, and thrive.
Highlighting the government’s commitment
to the cause, PM Modi referenced the launch of the flagship scheme Beti Bachao
Beti Padhao (Save Daughters, Educate Daughters) in 2015. This initiative aims
to improve the child sex ratio and empower girls through a variety of measures,
reflecting the government’s dedication to fostering the well-being and
advancement of the girl child in the country.
