For the first time, a delegation of 47
multi-purpose artificial insemination workers under the Rashtriya Gokul Mission
and 20 progressive farmers from Sikkim are set to participate in the Republic
Day programme in New Delhi, as announced in an official statement on Tuesday.

Husbandry Minister, Lok Nath Sharma, conveyed warm wishes to the participants,
emphasizing their safe and fruitful engagement in this national event.
The team comprises workers associated
with the Rashtriya Gokul Mission, a scheme focused on the development and
conservation of indigenous bovine breeds, and progressive farmers aligned with
the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana, which prioritizes water
conservation and management.
The journey for the 67 participants
commenced from the premises of Krishi Bhawan, flagged off by Minister Sharma.
In his address, the minister highlighted
the importance of good governance in effectively implementing central schemes.
He also credited Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang’s farming-friendly vision for
the notable transformation in the livestock farming and agriculture sector in
the State.
The official statement remarked, “This
is testified by the opportunity received by the farmers and artificial
insemination workers to participate in the Republic Day Celebration for the
first time in history.”
The participants have been invited for
the Republic Day programme scheduled in the national capital on Friday. During
the send-off, Minister Sharma engaged with the farmers, apprising them of
various initiatives undertaken by the state government for the upliftment of
