In a bid to promote gender inclusivity, the
Assam Government has appointed 36 new Scientific Assistants, including more
than half women, in the Directorate of Forensic Science, announced Chief
Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.
CM Himanta expressed on X post termed
the move as “a significant step towards better policing” aligns with Bharat’s goal
to strengthen the criminal justice system and ensure higher conviction rate as
the nation has shifted towards a forensic-based investigation methodology.
Bharat need more than 90,000 forensic
scientists to meet the evolving requirements of modern investigations.
Subsequently, the demand for forensic experts is likely to rise in the future.
