Amid reports of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi using a “body double” during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Assam, Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said he would share the details after he’s back in Guwahati and said, “Just wait a few days”.
As per a new report, the person inside the Congress yatra bus, waving at people was “probably not Rahul Gandhi at all”.
“I don’t just say things. The duplicate’s name, and how it was done – I will share all details. Just wait for a few days,” mentioned Dr Himanta in Sonitpur district on Saturday adding on Sunday and Monday respectively he “will be in Dibrugarh… and out of Guwahati”.
The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, led by Rahul Gandhi, had travelled through Assam from January 18 to 25, during which the Congress leader had blamed Himanta Biswa Sarma of being the “most corrupt Chief Minister of Bharat” and declining him the permission to visit a temple in the State and enter Guwahati.
Subsequently, Congress workers had clash with Assam Police and the former attacked the latter leading to filing of an FIR against Rahul Gandhi and others over the incident.
CM Himanta later stated they would be put behind bars after the Lok Sabha elections as he did not want to “politicise” the matter ahead of the polls. The Assam CM challenged all Gandhis to defeat him in the State by bringing Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and “Priyanka Gandhi’s son”, who “have already put up their hands” in surrender.
