The latest global icon to find a place at New York’s Madame Tussauds Museum is Yoga guru Baba Ramdev, as his wax statue was unveiled on January 30.
The Yoga guru’s wax impression was unveiled at an event in the national capital, while Baba Ramdev was present himself.
The wax figure of Baba Ramdev has been carved in the Vrikshasana pose, which involves standing on one leg with the other leg bent with the sole of the foot resting against the inner thigh of the standing leg.
Baba Ramdev, discussing the statue, said, “I am extremely honoured that my wax statue is being installed at Madame Tussauds in New York. It is both a piece of recognition for me as well as a recognition of yoga along with ayurveda and Bharat’s eternal culture. This also reflects that not only the icons from Bollywood, Hollywood, and the world of politics are celebrated and recognised but a seer can also claim similar recognition.”
Baba Ramdev, during the event, also put a ‘tika’ on the forehead of his wax impression while unveiling it.
Baba Ramdev is now a member of the league of other prominent personalities of Bharat whose wax statues were earlier installed at Madame Tussauds Museum in New York. His wax statue will find its placement at the museum in Times Square, Manhattan.
