In a bid to enhance the infrastructure and ease traffic congestion in Arunachal capital Itanagar, Chief Minister Pema Khandu dedicated significant projects worth around Rs 70 crore to the public. Besides, many other key initiatives aimed at enhancing connectivity and ease of living for residents were inaugurated.
Among the notable launched projects were a double-lane steel arch bridge at Borum, a bypass road stretching from the Pappu-Nallah bridge point to Sood, and a composite bridge over Pachin River, aimed at connecting the railway station. These projects, hailed as crucial infrastructural developments, were inaugurated in the presence of esteemed dignitaries including local MLA Shri Techi Kaso, Advisor to PWD Minister Phurpa Tsering Ji, and PWD Commissioner Kaling Tayeng.

Highlighting the significance of these initiatives, CM Khandu stressed they are integral to mitigating traffic congestion within the Itanagar capital complex. With a total of seven bridges nearing completion in the Capital Complex Area, including the two inaugurated today, the infrastructural landscape is set to undergo a significant transformation, further strengthening the connectivity within the region.
Plans are underway to build additional roads, including a 30 km double-lane highway linking Naharlagun Railway Station and Donyi Polo Airport. This ambitious project aims to facilitate seamless transit for commuters travelling between the railway station and the airport, thereby enhancing overall accessibility.
Expressing unwavering commitment towards the betterment of Itanagar, officials reiterated their dedication to creating a more efficient and accessible urban landscape for all its residents. Additionally, plans for a ropeway system in Itanagar were highlighted as a promising solution to further ease traffic congestion in the Capital Complex Region.
