Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s two-day Assam visit from February 3, the Guwahati Traffic Police has put traffic curbs in the State capital. The PM will inaugurate numerous developments projects as well as hold road show in the city’s Khanapara veterinary college grounds on Sunday.
However, free passages will be given to emergency vehicles like ambulances and fire tenders and vulnerable road users like children, students, women, senior citizens and differently-abled people on the road and their safety will be ensured.
1. Plying of four wheeler commercial transportation and above shall be restricted on National Highway-27 and National Highway-17 passing through Guwahati city from 2 pm to 11 pm on February 3 and from 4 am to 6 pm on February 4.
2. Plying of three wheeler commercial transportations and above will be restricted on GS Road, Panjabari Road, B Barooah Road, GNB Road, MG Road, AT Road and DG Road from 2 pm to 10 pm on February 3.
3. Plying of three wheeler commercial transportation and above shall be restricted on GS Road, Panjabari Road, Sixmile-Narengi Road, Tripura (Gali) Road, Beltola Bazar Road, Beltola-Basistha Road from 5 am to 6 pm on February 4.
4. ASTC buses or city buses will be controlled depending upon the traffic situation of the city.
5. Restrictions are not applied on the movement of emergency vehicles like ambulances, fire tenders on February 3 and 4.
