Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister Suresh Khanna presented the annual budget for the fiscal year 2024-25 in the state Assembly on February 5, where he unveiled a significant financial plan amounting to Rs 7.36 lakh crore.
This budget stretches over the state’s financial priorities, allocations as well as strategic initiatives for the upcoming fiscal year.
Significant provisions in UP Budget are:
Rs 4,000 crore has been allocated for the free distribution of tablets and smartphones to youth.
Rs 2,057 crore for the Ganga Expressway project.
Rs 2,500 crore has been sanctioned for preparation of Maha Kumbh Mela in the year 2025.
Rs 100 crore for overall Ayodhya’s development.
Rs 150 crore for expanding the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya.
Rs 1,150 crore has been relegated for construction work of International Airport in Jewar, Gautam Budh Nagar
Rs 150 crore for the establishment of NIFT in Varanasi.
Rs 200 crore has been assigned for PM mega integrated Textile and Apparel Park in Lucknow-Hardoi.
Rs 1,750 crore provision for development of roads leading to religious places.
Reportedly, the budget has new schemes or new provisions worth Rs 24,863 crore.
