Three Myanmar nationals, identified as Rabi Islam, Shafi Alam, and Mohammad Usman, will face action as the National Investigation Agency or NIA has filed a chargesheet against them over their involvement in a major global human trafficking and illegal infiltration cases.
The accused, all hailing from Myanmar’s Maungdaw District, are alleged to have trespass Bharat with the assistance of touts and traffickers, bypassing valid travel documentation. They had been engaged in facilitating the infiltration of numerous foreign nationals, particularly of Rohingya origin, through unauthorized and illegal border routes.
The trio lured vulnerable Rohingya women, who had sought refuge in Bangladesh, with fake promises of marriage to Rohingya men with the sole purpose of selling them across numerous Indian States like UP, Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, Telangana, and Haryana for forced marriages.
Besides, to conceal their true identities, the accused were involved in obtaining crucial documents like Aadhaar cards required to acquire multiple SIM cards and open bank accounts.
The central agency had initiated the investigation on the matter since last November.
