Arunachal Pradesh has turned into a global centre of fun, adventure, thrill and culture as the Tawangchu Kayaking Tides has commenced from February 5. Adding to the thrill is its picturesque location, which is fast-flowing Tawangchu River in Lumla near Bharat-China border.
As many as 130 kayakers from across the globe have joined the wild, unforgettable journey where passion meets the untamed waters of Arunachal Pradesh.
Aiming to bring it on the global spotlight, Earth Sciences Minister Kiren Riiju has specially endorsed it, Chief Minister Pema Khandu along with private sponsors and prominent institutions have supported it.
The grand vision of the prominent leaders included hosting of Kayaking World Championships in the future so that it attracts record-breaking number of domestic as well as foreign visitors, who will go through additional jaw-dropping experience owing to the presence of popular Sela Pass at the altitude of 13,700 feet.
For seamless and myriad of experiences, participants will enjoy comfortable stay, relish a grand dinner, hearty meals at communal dining tents, ethnic culinaries at local food kiosks, feel calmness through solemn prayers and adrenaline rush with participation in race briefings, practice runs and Down River Sprint and Giant Slalom competitions during the event spanning six days. Modern toilets will take care of hygiene issue. Other than participants, locals can immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere.
