In the latest development related to farmers’ protest march to the National Capital, the Delhi Government has firmly declined a proposal forwarded by the Central Government to convert the Bawana Stadium into a provisional jail.
While Delhi Home Minister Kailash Gehlot deemed it is necessary to refuse the proposal in view of respecting the farmers’ constitutional right to peaceful protest, a group of farmers picked up the police barricades and threw it off the bridge, creating chaos and flouting disciplines. Besides, the farmers’ march posed logistical challenges and raised concerns about security.
