In the latest development related to farmers’ protest march to the National Capital, the Delhi Government has firmly declined a proposal forwarded by the Central Government to convert the Bawana Stadium into a provisional jail.
While Delhi Home Minister Kailash Gehlot deemed it is necessary to refuse the proposal in view of respecting the farmers’ constitutional right to peaceful protest, a group of farmers picked up the police barricades and threw it off the bridge, creating chaos and flouting disciplines. Besides, the farmers’ march posed logistical challenges and raised concerns about security.
The farmers’ march, which has been a main point of conflict between the Central Government and protesting farmers for months, has garnered significant attention nationwide. Farmers from many parts of the nation have been demanding the repeal of contentious agricultural laws enacted by the Central Government.
In light of these developments, all eyes remain on the outcome of the farmers’ march and the ongoing efforts to find a mutually acceptable resolution to the agricultural crisis gripping the nation.
