Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has disclosed that the Central Government has signalled green light for the construction of a four-lane N Kawnpui or N Mualvum-Sairang section on NH-6 in Mizoram’s Aizawl and Kolasib districts, along the Silchar-Valrengte-Sairang road.
The 24.41 km project will be implemented under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction or EPC mode as part of the National Highway Original – North East (NHO-NE) initiative, shared Gadkari on social media.
Gadkari emphasized this road infrastructure aims to ensure smooth traffic flow, avoiding disruptions caused by local traffic in developed areas. The effort aims to alleviate congestion in urban zones, thus enhancing road safety within these areas.
The strategic project aims to bypass densely populated areas, reduce congestion, and improve road safety within the city of Aizawl. Additionally, it seeks to shorten the existing National Highway by 25 kilometers, from Vairengte to Sairang.
