Bharatiya Janata Party Tamil Nadu president K Annamalai announced Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the party’s En Mann En Makkal padayatra or foot march on its final day. The padayatra, a six-month-long march, aims to address diverse issues plaguing Tamil Nadu and to promote the BJP’s agenda in the State. PM Modi’s participation is anticipated to boost the morale of party members and supporters.
Annamalai revealed PM Modi’s involvement in the padayatra is scheduled for February 27, coinciding with his two-day visit to Tamil Nadu. He is expected to join the march in Tirupur district’s Palladam, marking the culmination of the extensive journey. The BJP chief further stated PM Modi will partake in various events during his stay in Tamil Nadu, indicating a significant political engagement in the state.
The En Mann En Makkal padayatra, led by Annamalai, has traversed through 234 constituencies across Tamil Nadu, addressing concerns and garnering support from the populace. The upcoming visit of PM Modi and his participation in the final leg of the march in Palladam are expected to draw significant attention and support from residents and party members alike.
Sources suggest PM Modi will address a massive rally in Palladam to conclude the padayatra and presence of top BJP leaders, including national president JP Nadda and Union Minister Amit Shah, during various stages of the padayatra underscores the party’s concerted effort to make inroads into Tamil Nadu’s political landscape.
The En Mann En Makkal padayatra, initiated by Union Minister Amit Shah in July last year, has been instrumental in highlighting the BJP’s vision for Tamil Nadu. Annamalai reiterated the Yatra’s objectives, focusing on eliminating family dynastic politics, tackling corruption, and improving law and order in the State. Additionally, the padayatra aims to promote the Tamil language and culture globally.
Annamalai expressed confidence in the padayatra’s impact on the State’s political landscape, emphasising the BJP’s commitment to ushering in positive change and development in Tamil Nadu.
