Himachal Pradesh have been facing political crisis, which arose during the recently held polling for the Rajya Sabha elections as nine MLAs, including six Congress rebels and three Independents, voted in favour of BJP candidate Harsh Mahajan.
Opposition Leader Jai Ram Thakur indicated a change in guard. He asked the BJP workers to get ready and said anything can happen in the coming days.
“It is difficult for the Congress party to stay in power as the political situation in Himachal Pradesh is grim for the Congress,” he said.
Himachal Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, after insisting upon the government’s stability for the past few days, now declined to comment on his regime’s stability.
In this backdrop, Union Information & Broadcasting and Sports Minister Anurag Thakur told reporters, “Congress representatives had given false promises and guarantees to the public. This situation is not only in Himachal but also in Karnataka. The motto of Congress is – make false guarantees and promises and grab the power. This is a huge blow to Congress. BJP has nothing to do with the situation in Himachal Pradesh. Congress is facing the consequences of their work.
