To strengthen the State security forces, Chief Minister N Biren Singh launched at least seven Mine Protected Vehicle or MPV for the Manipur Police at 1st Manipur Rifles Parade Ground in capital Imphal.
The move is noteworthy in view of the heavy casualties suffered by the Manipur Police owing to attacks by Kuki militants at border town Moreh. Usually, police have only normal vehicles.
