Prime Minister Narendra Modi graced the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi to inaugurate the prestigious ‘National Creators Award’. This groundbreaking initiative aims to recognise and celebrate excellence and influence across diverse domains such as storytelling, environmental sustainability, education, and gaming. It serves as a pivotal platform to harness creativity for fostering positive societal changes.
The awards encompass a wide spectrum of 20 categories, ranging from Best Storyteller to Disruptor of the Year, Celebrity Creator of the Year, Green Champion, Best Creator for Social Change, Most Impactful Agri Creator, Cultural Ambassador of the Year, and International Creator.
One of the highlights of the ceremony was the recognition of playback singer Maithili Thakur as the esteemed winner of the ‘Cultural Ambassador of The Year’ award. Thakur, known for her proficiency in Indian classical music and folk music, exemplifies the rich cultural heritage of the nation.
The selection process for these prestigious awards involved an extensive participation from the public, with over 1,50,000 nominations received across the 20 categories. Subsequently, approximately 1 million votes were cast during the voting phase for digital creators across various award categories.
Following a meticulous evaluation process, a total of 23 winners were chosen, including three outstanding international creators. This inaugural edition of the National Creators Awards marks a significant milestone in honouring and amplifying the contributions of creators who have left an indelible mark on society through their innovative efforts.
