Strengthening the ruling party at the Centre, renowned Hindi cinema and devotional singer Anuradha Paudwal joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Delhi on Saturday.
Hailing this turning point of her life as “good fortune” in a press conference at the party headquarters in the national capital, Paudwal expressed, “I am happy that I am joining the government which has a deep connection with Sanatan (Dharma). After joining the film industry, for the last 35 years I have been singing devotional songs. At that time I was not sure if I had done right or wrong thing. However, during the consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya I got the opportunity to sing a devotional song for five minutes. It was my life-long dream which was fulfilled. Now, I feel assured that I have done the right thing. And I am at the right place.”
